11/29/06: The topics for the final paper are here.

11/03/06: Brand new handouts on the evolutionary explanation of emotions and on other topics to be discussed are posted on the Handouts page.

10/04/06: The topics for the midterm paper are here.

09/28/06: Hints about how to write a philosophy paper is now at the Handouts page.

09/27/06: There will be another unannounced test tomorrow, the 28th. Do read this page. I even give you a hint about what it will be about: something very similar to the last one.

09/26/06: A handout on the units of selection debate is now at the Handouts page.

09/23/06: Important announcements: Your midterm paper will be due on the 10th of October. I will announce the paper topics on the 5th of October. And there is no class on the 3rd of October (in observation of the Yom Kippur school holiday).

09/18/06: It pays off if you read this page. The first unannounced test will be on this coming Thursday. I suppose, if you read this, it’s no longer unannounced.

09/02/06: Readings for next week: Chapter 2 of the Philosophy of Science book and section 1, section 2.3 as well as section 3 of the Van Fraassen article, which you can download from the syllabus website.
